Advertation

Water Aid Advert

Denotation: A thirsty, hungry African child who doesn't have a toilet and lives in a third world country and they cant even dig graves

Connotation: A African child who needs support due to his terrible health and living condition. The words "They dig toilets not graves" show that they live in nasty conditions and need to be helped

Analysis: The producer wants us to feel sympathy for the African child who cant live normally and the only thing that can help is you. The producer also wants us to feel more grateful for the stuff we have and not what we want.

Lucozade Energy unveils latest TV advert

Denotation: Shows a lucazade bottle with a slogan promoting their product to make more sales for profit.

Connotation : The slogan "Turn your To-Dos into Ta-Daas, find your flow" is inferring to us that everyone needs to have a taste of this exotic delicacy, the words find your flow shows us that theirs multiple flavours and wants us to have a taste.

Analysis: The author wants us to feel like this is a unique everlasting flavourful drink that we need to taste. The exploding font of the letters shows us this is a exiting drink and wants us to crave it and remember it. The author did this so they can recognise the drink due to the advert as it causes curiosity so next time they view it they desire it.
